Salvation of those Conscious of Allah

https://www.khutbah.info/salvation-through-conciousness-of-allah/ Be conscious of Allah. Know Him in times of ease He will know you in times of difficulty. Get to know your Lord through veneration, love and glorification. Do plenty of worship seeking His pleasure and avoiding disobeying Him fearing the severe torment. Get to know Allah through doing acts of obedience while you still have the ability and the opportunity, before you wish you could have done good deeds but are no longer able to do so. Az Zumar -61: And Allah will deliver those who are the Muttaqun (conscious of Him) to their places of success (Paradise). Evil shall touch them not, nor shall they grieve. For whomsoever has consciousness of Allah and carries out His commands and avoids His prohibitions is saved through His help. If he falls into a situation of ruin, Allah delivers him from it and facilitates a way  out of it. Those conscious of Allah are saved. The testimony for that is what happened to and what continues to happen to those conscious of Allah.

Verily, all praise is for Allah. We praise Him, we seek His assistance and we ask for His forgiveness. And we seek refuge in Him from the evils of our selves. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide. Whoever He misguides, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah and I bear witness that Mohammad is His slave and messenger.

Al Imran 102 : O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.

Oh people:

Be conscious of Allah.

Allah says:

Az Zumar (39) 61: And Allah will deliver those who are the Muttaqun (conscious of Him) to their places of success (Paradise).

Have you not heard of what happened to the Master of the those conscious of Allah when he (ﷺ) left Makkah during emigration with His companion Abu Bakr. They feared for their lives from Quraish. Allah saved them although Quraish were at their heads at the entrance of the cave. Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Oh Messenger of Allah if one of them looks at their feet they would see us.

The Messenger of Allah responded:

Do not be sad for Allah is with us, What do you think of two Oh Abu Bakr of which The Third is Allah? [Al Bukhari 3453, Muslim 2381, At Tirmidhi 3096]

Allah the Exalted saved His Prophet without any harm touching him.

Have you not heard what happened to the Prophet Yunis, peace be upon him, when he left his people angry with them? He travelled by sea and the boat that he was on was overloaded and the people on the boat drew lots to decide who would be thrown overboard so that the rest would be saved and they would not all perish. The Prophet Yunis, peace be upon him, was selected on this basis and thrown overboard. Then a whale swallowed him.

Al Anbiya (21) 87: He cried through the darkness (saying): La ilaha illa Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)], Glorified are You. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers.”

Then the Lord of the Worlds responded to him and saved him from this horror. Allah said:

As Saffat (37) 143-144: (143) And had he not been of those who exalt Allah (144) He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection.

Have you not heard about the story of the three men from a previous time?

‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with them) narrated that:  I heard Allah’s Messenger ﷺ saying, “Three men from among those who were before you, set out together till they reached a cave at night and entered it. A big rock rolled down the mountain and closed the mouth of the cave. They said (to each other), Nothing could save you from this rock but to invoke Allah by giving reference to the righteous deeds which you have done (for Allah’s sake only).’ So, one of them said, ‘O Allah! I had old parents and I never provided my family (wife, children etc.) with milk before them. One day, by chance I was delayed, and I came late (at night) while they had already slept. I milked the sheep for them and took the milk to them, but I found them sleeping. I disliked to provide my family with the milk before them. I waited for them and the bowl of milk was in my hand and I kept on waiting for them to get up till the day dawned. Then they got up and drank the milk. O Allah! If I did that for Your Sake only, please relieve us from our critical situation’ So, the rock shifted a little but they could not get out.” The Prophet (ﷺ) added, “The second man said, ‘O Allah! I had a cousin who was the dearest of all people to me and I wanted to have an unlawful intimate relation with her but she refused. Later she had a hard time during a year of famine and she came to me and I gave her one-hundred-and-twenty Dinars on the condition that she would not resist my desire, and she agreed. When I was about to fulfill my desire, she said: be conscious of Allah and do not violate my chastity except by legitimate marriage. I moved away from her in spite of the fact that I loved her most passionately; and I let her keep the money I had given her. O Allah! If I did that for Your Sake only, please relieve us from our calamity.’ So, the rock shifted a little more but they still they could not get out.” And the third one said: ‘O Allah! I hired some laborers and paid them their wages except one of them departed without taking his due. I invested his money and it multiplied greatly. After a long time, he came to me and said: O slave of Allah! Pay me my dues. I said: All that you see is yours – camels, cattle, goats and slaves. He said: O slave of Allah! Do not mock me. I assured him that I was not joking. So he took everything and went away. He spared nothing. O Allah! If I did so seeking Your Pleasure, then relieve us of our distress.’ The rock slipped aside and they walked freely”. [Al Bukhari 2152, Muslim 2743, Abu Dawood 3387]

I say what you have heard and I seek forgiveness from Allah for me and you from every sin. So seek forgives from Him, Verily He is Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Second Khutbah

All praise is to Allah, and peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah and I bear witness that Mohammad is His slave and messenger.

Oh Muslims:

Allah not only delivers those conscious of Allah in this world, but also he saves them from the anguish and the horrors of the Day of Judgment. He saves them from the punishment of the fire.  Allah said:

Maryam (19) 71-72:  There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell); this is with your Lord; a Decree which must be accomplished. Then We will save those who feared Allah and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees.

Abdullah bin Ruwaaha (May Allah be pleased with him) wept while he was sick and was asked, why do you weep? He responded, I remembered Allah’s words:

Maryam (39) 71:  There is not one of you but will pass over it

And I am not sure whether I will be delivered from it or not?!

When Abu Mayserah would go to bed he would weep saying: “ We were informed that we would pass over it (hell) but we were not informed whether we would be saved from it”

So let turn to Allah and be conscious of Him implementing His commands and avoiding His prohibitions. This leads to facilitation in this worldly life and even more importantly salvation in the next.

May Allah may us among the those conscious of Him. Indeed Allah is All Hearing, Answering.

I conclude with this and send prayers of blessings and peace upon your Prophet as your Lord commanded:

Al Ahzaab (33) 56: Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [ Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [ Allah to grant him] peace.

O Allah, guide us with those whom You have guided, grant us well-being among those You have granted well-being, be an ally to us along with those whom You are an ally to, and bless what You have bestowed upon us, and save us from the evil of what You have decreed.  For verily You decree and none can decree over You. He whom You support can never be humiliated. Glory is to You, our Lord, You are Blessed and Exalted.

O Allah, We ask You for all that is good, in this world and in the Hereafter, what we know and what we do not know. O Allah, we seek refuge with You from all evil, in this world and in the Hereafter, what we know and what we do not know. O Allah, we ask You for the good that Your servant and Prophet has asked You for, and we seek refuge with You from the evil from which Your servant and Prophet sought refuge. O Allah, we ask You for Paradise and for that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed, and we seek refuge in You from Hell and from that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed. And we ask You to make every decree that You decree concerning us good

Servants of Allah. Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.

Remember Allah, the Great – He will remember you. Thank Him for His favors – He will increase you therein.  And seek forgiveness from Him – He will forgive you. And be conscious of Him – He will provide you a way out of difficult matters. And, establish the prayer.
