Allāh is with the Believers

https://www.khutbah.info/allah-is-with-the-believers/ The believers feel that Allāh protects them and are certain that Allāh is with them, hears them if they complain and answers them if they supplicate and takes their hand if they stumble, and supports them if they weaken, and helps them if they are in need, and pacifies them if they fear. All of these are reasons for relief and peace of mind and reassurance of the heart and easing matters and bringing good consequences now and later. For a person’s trust in their Lord and their certainty that He the Almighty is the disposer of their affairs and that He the Almighty steers all goodness and lifts all harm, does not allow them to become prey to evil whispers or delusions, and does not allow them to fall into despairing from receiving Allāh’s relief, or into the darkness of losing hope in attaining Allāh’s mercy. So they turn to Allāh during every difficulty, and ask for His help in every affliction, and remember and are grateful to Him for every blessing and mercy. So they turn to Allāh in all their conditions and humbly supplicate to Him and are certain of the response. They wait for the relief from Allāh and do not turn to other than Him the Almighty and do not put their needs before other than Him. Allāh Almighty said:

Verily, all praise is for Allah. We praise Him, we seek His assistance and we ask for His forgiveness. And we seek refuge in Him from the evils of our selves. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide. Whoever He misguides, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah and I bear witness that Mohammad is His slave and messenger.

Al Imran 102 : O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.

Oh people:

The believers feel that Allāh protects them and are certain that Allāh is with them, hears them if they complain and answers them if they supplicate and takes their hand if they stumble, and supports them if they weaken, and helps them if they are in need, and pacifies them if they fear.

An Naml (27) 62: Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil?

So the believer remembers their Lord in all their conditions and is grateful for every goodness, and is patient and submits to their Lord and waits for the relief upon every difficulty. And asks Allāh to protect the blessings and to provide relief from the afflictions and for kindness in the decrees.

So be conscious of Allāh and trust that Allāh is with the believers in an exclusive way. Even though Allāh is ever-present through His knowledge -and not His essence-at all times and in all places, with all – believers and unbelievers- he is exclusively there for the believers. So Allāh has a general ever-presence that applies to all and an exclusive ever-presence that only applies to the believers.

As far as His general ever-presence, He sees all and knows the thoughts and inner whispers and sees what is hidden in the chests. Allāh Almighty said:

Al Hadid (57) 4: He is with you wherever you are. And Allāh, of what you do, is Seeing.

Allāh’s exclusive ever-presence for the believers includes His protection, safeguarding, and care, and His favor, compassion and bounty. And this is only for the believers, those who are with Allāh in secret and in public. And in the Noble Quran, Allāh Almighty mentioned that He is with the believers, with the Allāh conscious, with the doers of good and with the patient.

As far as the believers, Allāh Almighty said:

Al Anfal (8) 19: And never will you be availed by your [large] company at all, even if it should increase; and [that is] because Allāh is with the believers.

And Allāh is with those who are conscious of Him in secret and in the open. Allāh Almighty said:

Al Baqarah (2) 194: And be conscious of Allāh and know that Allāh is with those who are conscious of Him.

And Allāh is with those who do good seeking His pleasure though words and actions. Allāh Almighty said:

Al Ankabot (29) 69: And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allāh is with the doers of good.

And His words:

An Nahl (16) 128: Indeed, Allāh is with those who are conscious of Him and those who are doers of good.

As far as Allāh being with the patient, Allāh Almighty said:

Al Baqarah (2) 153: O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allāh is with the patient.

And His words:

Al Anfal (8) 46: And do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allāh is with the patient.

And this exclusive ever-presence of Allāh for the believers, includes help and guidance and safeguarding and care. And whoever has Allāh with them, has relied on strong and powerful support.

Oh Muslims: In this wordily life, misfortunes, afflictions and calamities have no end. And, as much as possible, one must take preventative measures against the causes of every calamity, affliction and ordeal. However if they fall, one should endure patiently and wait for a good ending and something better afterwards and account for the reward with the One Who decreed and directed them, Blessed be the Almighty.  Allāh Almighty said:

Al Taghabun (64) 11: No disaster strikes except by permission of Allāh. And whoever believes in Allāh – He will guide his heart. And Allāh is Knowing of all things.

And how many good endings and generous returns came from patience upon adversities. The greatest of which is purifying the tawhid (Divine Unity) through sincerity to Allāh alone, and turning the hearts away from attachment to the created, and increasing guidance and īmān (faith), and increasing the balance of one’s reward and expiating misdeeds and raising the ranks and multiplying good deeds. Allāh Almighty said:

Al Baqarah (2) 155-157: (155) And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, (156) Who, when disaster strikes them, say, “Indeed we belong to Allāh, and indeed to Him we will return.” (157) Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.

And Allāh Almighty said:

Az Zumar (39) 10: Say, “O My servants who have believed, be conscious of your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allāh is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account [i.e., limit].”

For patience is an asset and light and the best that one adorns themselves with during afflictions, adversities and hardships. How not and Allāh has promised His help and victory. And the Prophet ﷺ said:

And know that in patience upon what you hate is much goodness [Tirmithi 2516, Ahmad 2803, Grade: Ṣaḥīḥ]

And the Prophet ﷺ said:

Whoever strive to be patient, Allāh will help them to be patient. None is given anything better and more far-reaching than patience. [al-Bukhari 1469]

And from among the best preparations for the journey to Allāh, is reliance upon Allāh, which is dependence upon Allāh for attaining what benefits one’s religious and worldly affairs, and repelling what harms with referring the matter to Allāh Almighty, and the attraction of the heart to Him out of love for Him the Almighty, and trust in Him, and relying upon Him. And that is completed through taking the means that Allāh has ordained for reaching one’s aim and attaining commendable returns. For reliance upon Allāh, is one of the best qualities and greatest deeds of the believer. Allāh Almighty said:

Al Anfal (8) 2: The believers are only those who, when Allāh is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely.

And their reward from Allāh is sufficiency. For Allāh is sufficient for whoever relies upon Him. Allāh Almighty said:

At Talaq (65) 3: And whoever relies upon Allāh – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allāh will accomplish His purpose. Allāh has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.

And Allāh Almighty said:

Az Zumar (39) 36: Is not Allāh sufficient for His Servant [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad ()]?

And whoever relies on Allāh and trusts that His sufficiency is true, then no adversary will be able to defeat them and they will not miss out on what they desire.

Allāh Almighty said:

Al Baqarah (2) 137: And Allāh will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

As for the alleged reliance, which is just a claim of the tongue, with the absence of trust in Allāh within the heart and with breaches in obedience to Him through the tongue and limbs, as well as leaving the means for attaining the beloved and safeguarding against the feared. Or relying on the means and turning away from their Originator, Blessed and Exalted. For this is an alleged reliance that does not benefit the one having it. Rather it is could be the cause of their misery sooner or later.

And one of its manifestations in situations that require reliance upon Allāh is that you see such people acting like those who have no iman (faith) and do not believe in the sufficiency of the Most Merciful. They think evil thoughts of Allāh. For example, when disturbing incidents occur, they forget about Allāh’s gentleness and mercy for His servants. So such people stockpile supplies above their needs, even for exaggerated prices all for that fateful day as they claim. So such behavior results in inflated prices and turmoil in the markets and temptation for the weak souls to monopolize goods. And the victims are the poor and needy and those living day by day. And this is a materialistic view that undermines reliance. And this is reliance upon the means and turning away from the Lord of the worlds and the Originator of the means.

I say what you have heard and I seek forgiveness from Allah for me and you from every sin. So seek forgives from Him, Verily He is Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Second Khutbah

All praise is to Allah, and peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah and I bear witness that Mohammad is His slave and messenger.

Oh Muslims:

So be conscious of Allāh and feel that Allāh is with you through His knowledge and that He sees you and hears you at all times.  And realize that Allāh is with the believer in an exclusive fashion; fulfilling their needs and answering their supplications. So put your needs before Allāh alone and place your trust in Allāh Almighty and be true in relying upon Him. Take the ordained means. And know that Allāh Almighty is kind to His servants and that goodness is in His Hands. And that He has the stores of everything and He is over all things able. Allāh Almighty said:

Ya-Sin (36) 82: When He intends a thing that He says to it, “Be,” and it is.

And Allāh Almighty said:

At Talaq (s) 2-3: (2) And whoever is conscious of Allāh – He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allāh – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allāh will accomplish His purpose. Allāh has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.

Oh Allāh make us among those who are certain that You are with them and among those who truly rely upon You. Indeed Allāh is All Hearing, Answering.

I conclude with this and send prayers of blessings and peace upon your Prophet as your Lord commanded:

Al Ahzaab (33) 56: Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [ Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [ Allah to grant him] peace.

O Allah, guide us with those whom You have guided, grant us well-being among those You have granted well-being, be an ally to us along with those whom You are an ally to, and bless what You have bestowed upon us, and save us from the evil of what You have decreed.  For verily You decree and none can decree over You. He whom You support can never be humiliated. Glory is to You, our Lord, You are Blessed and Exalted.

O Allah, We ask You for all that is good, in this world and in the Hereafter, what we know and what we do not know. O Allah, we seek refuge with You from all evil, in this world and in the Hereafter, what we know and what we do not know. O Allah, we ask You for the good that Your servant and Prophet has asked You for, and we seek refuge with You from the evil from which Your servant and Prophet sought refuge. O Allah, we ask You for Paradise and for that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed, and we seek refuge in You from Hell and from that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed. And we ask You to make every decree that You decree concerning us good

Servants of Allah. Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.

Remember Allah, the Great – He will remember you. Thank Him for His favors – He will increase you therein.  And seek forgiveness from Him – He will forgive you. And be conscious of Him – He will provide you a way out of difficult matters. And, establish the prayer.
